Group Training Classes

Beginning training program will be especially targeted for younger dogs 4 months-12 months. Training will include such exercises as: Controlled Walking, Beginning Heeling, Sit, Down, Stays, Recalls, Attention exercises, and exercises geared toward younger or untrained dogs. Overall, the class will serve as a means to better socialize your dog and instruct you in the proper handling techniques.
Intermediate training program will include such exercises as: Heeling, Figure 8, Recall, Stand, Stand for Exam, Drop, Longer Sits & Down Stays, Finish, Attention, Introduction to Rally and more advanced exercises. Handlers will have an opportunity to practice and test for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification or Title. In addition, short introductory sessions will be held to cover such topics as: Rally Obedience, Competition Obedience and a Review of various Training literature.
Rally Obedience training program is a positive based class designed for the handlers who are interested in learning the skills necessary to compete in AKC Rally Obedience. Rally is a combination of traditional obedience and the use of directional signs to guide the handlers/dogs through a course. You will learn how to perform each exercise so that you can later complete a course. Rally training encourages you to use the combination of verbal commands, hand signals and praise to encourage your dog to complete a variety of exercises. Both handlers and dogs will enjoy the training. This course will help you with learning more advanced type obedience exercises.
Advanced training program will especially be oriented toward those interested in learning more advanced training techniques and becoming familiar with the AKC requirements for showing in Beginning Novice and Novice classes. Additional introductions and demonstrations will include beginning training for retrieving, jumps, drops, hand signals, rally obedience and more detailed information on Obedience Trials.
Short training programs are periodically offered for the above and for the AKC Canine Good Citizen testing or other specialized training areas.
Private, Semi-private and Private group training sessions are also available.
